Lawn Tip Tuesday: Fall Aeration!🍂

Does your lawn feel hard underfoot, or does water tend to pool after rain? Your soil may be compacted!
Core aeration removes small plugs of soil, allowing air, water, and nutrients to reach the grass roots more easily.

Fall is here, and now is the perfect time to give your lawn some extra attention before winter!

Don’t let those leaves pile up! A thick layer of leaves can block sunlight and trap moisture, which can damage your grass and lead to problems in the spring. 🌱 Lawn Tip Tuesday ✂️

When should you prune your shrubs?

Late summer is a good time to lightly prune shrubs that have finished flowering, removing dead, damaged, or overgrown branches and giving them a clean shape before fall.

🌸 Spring-flowering shrubs — such as lilacs and forsythia — are best pruned right after they finish blooming, since they set next year’s flower buds soon after.

🌺 Summer-flowering shrubs — such as many hydrangeas and spireas — can generally be pruned in late winter or early spring, depending on the variety.

The key is knowing what you’re pruning before you start. Pruning at the wrong time can mean cutting off next season’s blooms! Proper pruning keeps your landscape healthy, tidy, and looking its best.
