Buckeye Chapter of the GPAA

Buckeye Chapter of the GPAA The Buckeye Chapter of the Gold Prospectors Association of America was formed in 1996. We welcome you to join us at one of our chapter meetings.

The Buckeye Chapter of the Gold Prospectors Association of America was founded in 1996 to provide a place for GPAA members to meet in Ohio. As an educational non profit organization, the BCGPAA travels to area trade shows and hosts various youth groups to provide guidance in gold prospecting. The organization is self supporting by the members and individuals who attend our meetings and functions.

With Fossick approaching, work is being done to stake out the property for our temporary Camp Permit with Richland County and the State of Ohio. While we would all like to just be able to camp where we want, this is not possible on our big events. There are a few rules that do need to be followed. Staking out will begin shortly this week. If you come before that, you may need to move your camper into a site.

Also, from the red shed to the pavilion is Vendor Row, and has had preassigned sites for vendors only. Vendor row is full.

As in years past, you will notice that there will be no camping on the nursery side of Wade Gatton for Fossick. We do not have nearly enough campers at the event to make this necessary, plus it keeps the cost down on permitting. Also, there will be some sites in the "bowl" area removed for Fossick this year. Most all sites in this area were unoccupied the last two years. Rest assured, for the couple of campers that do camp back there, you will have options available.

Fossick Camping Registration and Rules

In Case of Emergency, Call: Richland Co. Sheriff (419) 524-2412 or

Welcome to the SWANK GPAA property. We hope you have a great time this
weekend, but we have a few rules that apply to help make your weekend flow
smoother.

- Camp registration is required. Please find the site you wish to camp in,
then return to this registration area to fill out your information. All
information is needed.

- If you have a pet (dog, cat, etc.) with you, you are required to fill out the attached dog registration that can be found at the back of this packet with your information. Dogs must be current on their vaccinations, and you must have your Ohio registration paperwork or dog tag with you on the property. All dogs must be on a leash at all times. Please clean up after your pet. You are personally responsible for your dog's actions.

- Your site has a 15’ buffer between your site and the next. No part of your
camp is to be in that buffer zone (rv, tent, canopy, vehicle, etc.) Do not
block the buffer. There is ample parking on the field side of the driveway.

- 5’ minimum distance between tent and RV units on the same site, 10’ from
adjacent units, and 15’ isolation between sides of RV units.

- There is a First Aid Kit on our chapter trailer if needed. See Robert
Thompson on Site # 24 (next to the kids playground) for access.

- Greywater buckets are located along the driveway. This is for greywater
ONLY. No trash or blackwater. Likewise, the porta-pots are NOT FOR
TRASH OR BLACKWATER!! If you are found dumping either in the
improper locations, you will be asked to leave.

- If you need to dump your blackwater, we recommend Loves Travel Plaza at
976 OH-97, Bellville, OH 44813. They charge a small fee, but also have fresh
water to fill with.

- Generators: Generators can be run 24/7 from the new Red Shed to Cutnaw Rd.
Generators cannot be run in the “bowl area” from the hours of 10PM to 7AM.
Please be respectful of others.

We hope you have a great weekend! If you have any questions, feel free to email
[email protected] and we will try to answer your questions as quickly as
possible.

Memorial Day is more than just the start of summer; it is a day of solemn remembrance. Today, take a moment to honor the service members who never made it back home. Thank you to the heroes who gave their today for our tomorrow. Lest we forget.

Just an update to the Fossick schedule. After a discussion yesterday, and considering feedback from Vendors and Attendees alike the last couple of years, we have made a change to Saturday's schedule. Please make note of these adjustments:

12:00PM – Potluck Lunch. Please bring a dish to share. Plan on about 60-70 people at the potluck.

1:00PM – 30 Min Early Start on Treasure Hunt Puzzle for those who did early buy in.

1:30PM – Treasure Hunt Puzzles distributed to those who did not do early buy in for treasure hunt. Once you complete your puzzle, follow the directions on your puzzle to continue the hunt!

6:00PM - Live Auction. Please feel free to bring items for the auction to the main pavilion during the day. This will be a short auction.

6:30PM - Raffles - All vendors bring your raffles to the main pavilion for raffle time.

Vendors have asked to have us move our drawings to the end of the day (like we do at Gold Rush) so they can participate in the days events as well. We are making the change for this year. The event pages have been updated as well.
