There’s been a lot going on and I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. Vienna and I took the time last week to repaint her play kitchen. We added the same window clings like above our kitchen sink to her microwave and oven as well as wallpaper like the one I have on the hutch. She picked the color like a big girl on th floor at Home Depot. Rationalizing her choices rather than being impulsive like her Mama. While big changes are happening around us, as well as health scares with Arya and me going through my own health journey it’s been chaotic to say the least. Entering my fortieth year of life this fall, is a weird feeling. Emotional and nostalgic I guess. These past four years, I have always tried to make her life feel stable, feel safe and feel loved while always trying to have fun. Everyday may not be great, but there’s good in every day. My good starts with this little girl, full of creativity and joy. If I could stay young, while keeping her young forever I would, but then again, there’s so much more life to live 💕

Long live girlhood 💕🌷🎀

Vienna’s room is full of toys, sunglasses, stuffed animals and magic. All things girly but this girl can put you in an armbar. At just three, I see so much of myself in her. Her room echoes my own as a child. Every inch covered in things I loved. Although I’m the one putting it up for her now, she’s holding the reins of her likes and dislikes.

A child doesn’t have to have a picture perfect room. It has to be perfect for them and their personality. Fostering accessibility, independence and creativity always.

She was especially excited for these pretty Floral Tie backs from recently. She loves the ample light and using her binoculars to start out the window. Long Live Girlhood indeed 🌸

Sweet Dreams are made of these 🍩

When we went to get Arya her dog food the other day, we found the perfect pink donut dog cookie 💕 for her and had to stop at Dunkin to get Vienna a matching strawberry frosted.

It’s safe to say that the pillow covers and couch don’t always look clean. That’s why I like to use kid and pet friendly items for our living spaces. 🛋️

I recently worked with and I got these new pillow covers in a velvety Ivory. They’re made from soft skin-friendly fabric certified by Oeko-Tex Standard 100 which means there’s no harmful substances. Perfect for homes with children whose siblings have four paws. 🐾

With our floral curtains from it’s starting to feel like Spring inside our home.

It may be raining outside, but inside there’s flowers and colored sprinkles galore.

Finally some sun ☀️ coming through these windows. The past few days have been Spring here and the stained glass window clings are bringing us rainbows and warmth. Such a small addition to your home can make the biggest of impacts on your soul. Painting the window frame green flowing from the wall color and adding the magnolias paired perfectly. BRB, catching rainbows with my girl 🌈 👧🏻

And just like that…Christmas is gone. Still lingering are the books and the stray odds and ends. This corner saw a lot of change in the last month. From the airy spot in the living room with a new desk color, to the view of cozy colorful lights burning bright from our beautiful and real Christmas tree, to the equally as beautiful crisp new faux tree we bought the day before Christmas Eve (because of how terrible my allergies got. To now, a spot for my Barbie Dreamhouse that is now Vienna’s 💕

Sometimes style is compromised for the joy of childhood, and that is something I’m not willing to compromise ever. Gone are the days of perfectly styled spaces, (sure for photos we can always remove the clutter); but her joy is worth more to me even if I still get anxious about it.

Change is something I find hard to cope with sometimes. Transitioning from one year to another, changing homes, schools, jobs, life stages, etc; can be difficult to many. Even if it’s for the greater good, change can feel overwhelming and uncomfortable all at the same time while still feeling proud of your growth. ❤️

Pictures that deserve a permanent spot. ❤️🎄At this point in the season, I feel like time is running out quicker than I’d like. I think when Thanksgiving comes early, we get to celebrate Christmas longer and feel less rushed. Slowing down and looking at the things we feel thankful for is where the spirit of Christmas lies.

Sleep has been broken here for a while now. It always looked comfy but was killing my back. The house is sloped and the head of the bed is lower than the bottom. We had bought adjustable risers to support the frame when we got a new mattress last year after the skunk debacle and decided to get rid of the box spring too so Arya could jump more easily on now that she’s older). But this mattress wasn’t cutting it.

We decided to get this Cooling Gel Memory Foam Hypoallergenic Mattress Topper from When Vienna and I took it out of the box we were amazed at how it expanded. It makes the bed feel so much more comfortable and gives us the extra support we need (especially when little feet run in to lay with us and the dog at our feet.
