Sooo this happened yesterday and I couldn't feel more honored. I've always been told to let your work speak for itself. So for Epifanes Yacht Coatings to actually take notice and publish my work is definitely a crowning achievement for me. I'm still a little taken back by it, but it was an awesome experience getting to talk with their team and hearing their thoughts and praises on the project. I definitely poured my heart and soul into it, so to hear it from one of the most prestigious yacht coating companies in the world is just the cherry on top. Thank you guys!

Don't forget to go give them a like and follow! They post some amazing work from craftsman all over the world!

Proof of concept lighting test. Decided to go with true 24v 3000k light instead of an RGB for longevity purposes and to keep more in tune with the classic look.

Routing out the lid back support bar for wiring and installing another cool feature. Solid cherry grommets, cut out of some left over 8/4 cherry for the lower base cabinet. This will allow for cables and wires to pass through to the amp box, mixing console and pedals.

Fitting the inset doors to the cabinet body using ball tipped burnished antique brass cabinet hinges from Rejuvenation Hardware. Coming together absolutely beautifully.

Crafting the upper and lower doors, using a pegged through tenon for the joinery. Again, keeping with theme of the grain running through the whole cabinet, the stiles and rails are bookmatched and run left to right, top to bottom. There could be no screw ups, otherwise I'd have to remake all the doors.

Mahogany Wind Spinner finished with six coats of Epifanes Traditional Yacht Varnish.

Wind Spinner finishing process. Each piece of this wind spinner is leveled, rubbed and cleaned. Then the finish is applied and left to dry for 24hrs. There was a total of six coats on this one its tedious and time consuming, but well worth it.

Some process photos.

It's all starting to come together. Loving the way this is turning out!

Bookmatched upper light bar. This was another cool feature. So this will be the upper light bar for the guitar cabinet. Remember this is the other piece of cherry that I milled for the lower base. This one will mirror the one on the bottom. Since I added the inlayed musical staff on the bottom piece, I thought it would be cool to add 5 keys to either end of the upper board. This piece will also sit slightly proud of the upper part of the cabinet to allow for more recessed LED lighting and 3 dimmable recessed puck lights.
