Why Are My New Leaves So Tiny?! (Don’t Panic Yet)

You ever notice a fresh new leaf pop out and think, “Um… that’s it? That’s the leaf?” Don’t worry—your plant isn’t broken, and you didn’t do anything wrong (this time 😏).

Here’s the deal:
When a new leaf first emerges, it’s kind of like a baby burrito—tightly folded, soft, and super delicate. It hasn’t fully inflated yet because it’s still getting hydrated and strengthened from within. Over the next few days (or weeks, depending on the plant), that tiny leaf will slowly unfold, stretch, and glow up into its full-size fabulous self.

✨ It’s basically leaf puberty.

So if you see small leaves:
Don’t panic.
Don’t assume your plant is stunted.
Don’t start giving it every nutrient under the sun.
Just give it time, good light, and proper watering—and let it do its thing.

Remember: Great leaves aren’t rushed.
