Growth takes time.

John Newton reminds us that God often works in His people gradually. Just as a plant does not go from seed to maturity in a day, the Christian life is one of steady growth as God works in us by His grace.

We may not always see that growth as quickly as we would like, but our confidence is not in ourselves. It is in the God who began the work and is faithful to complete it.

May we be patient in the work God is doing, faithful in the means He has given us, and thankful that every bit of true growth comes from Him. 🌱

The clouds, the rain, the soil, and every blade of grass ultimately depend upon His provision. Psalm 147 reminds us that even the ordinary things we see around us each day are reasons to give thanks and praise to the One who provides them.
