We’re incredibly proud to celebrate Kelly Jo and TMG earning the #20 spot on UCF’s Ever Upward list!

“If I could go back and chat with the 21-year-old girl in this picture...she was so worried about becoming “successful,” which, back then, meant a corner office and power suits. She worked three jobs while attending UCF, constantly anxious about her grades and whether she was good enough. What she didn’t realize then was that the higher you climb in corporate America, the less time you may have for the life you’re building outside your office walls.

Starting Threaded Marketing Group gave me the freedom to redefine what success meant to me. Today, it looks a lot different. It’s helping others, having the freedom to drive my kids to activities and, more often than not, rocking yoga pants.

And now, many years later, TMG has earned the #20 spot on UCF’s Ever Upward list of the fastest-growing Knight-owned businesses.

There are so many things I’m proud of about what TMG has become, but this recognition feels especially meaningful. If I could tell the girl in this photo what was coming, I would. Although I’m not sure she’d believe me.”

We are looking for an experienced copywriter to join our team as a Lead Storyteller.

This is a role with flexible hours and the ability to work remotely. You’ll lead copywriting and communications projects for A/E/C clients across the country, including proposals, award submissions, websites, case studies, internal communications, and more.

We’re looking for someone with at least five years of professional copywriting, proposal writing, or strategic communications experience. A/E/C industry experience is strongly preferred.

Marketing’s role in an RFP is often misunderstood. Yes, the final proposal needs to look polished. But that is only one piece of it.

The real work is helping connect the dots between what the client cares about, what the technical team knows, how the project will be delivered, and why the firm is the right fit.

That means keeping the story clear, the messaging consistent, the response compliant, and the pursuit team aligned.

A strong proposal is shaped throughout the pursuit.

Your audience is looking for reasons to trust you. They want to know whether you understand their priorities, can solve the problem, have done this before, and have the process and people to deliver.

Social media strategies are constantly changing.

When we recently revisited the strategy for this landscaping client, one of the biggest focuses was creating content that matched each platform’s audience rather than posting the same thing everywhere. Meta audiences differ from LinkedIn's, so our content needed to reflect that.

For a highly visual brand like a landscape company, relying too heavily on stock imagery was taking away one of their biggest strengths: the work itself. We wanted potential clients to see the actual crews, job sites, finished projects, and day-to-day field activity because that’s where the quality truly shows.

As the strategy evolved, reels and stories became a larger part of the content mix, and the branding became less rigid and more natural. The feed began to feel more lived-in, more active, and more connected to the people behind the work, ultimately strengthening the brand's online presence.
