I rarely get to visit mature landscapes I've designed but when a client becomes a friend who invites you to join her for a wee dinner party, who am I to resist? Good company, good food and good plants is a great combination.

2021 was a tough year for me so I was especially grateful to make it to the Green n Growin' Show (Nursery and Landscape trade show) this year. I ran across a new product that might of interest to some of you. It surely is to me! Voles are a natural part of the environment and I give them plenty of room on my 3 acres but not my garden/landscape plants! I will be ordering some for myself but am passing it on in case someone else wants to give them a try. They have a sale going on right now, too. Newly planted dormant trees and shrubs don't make much of a statement at this time of year but they will beginning next Spring. One Swamp White Oak, two Oklahoma Redbuds, two Autumn Brilliance Serviceberries, one Galaxy Magnolia, three American Beautyberry, seven Southern Wax Myrtles and three Brilliantissima Chokeberries. Outside the fence, three Wildfire Blackgums replacing failed street trees. There will be more color and food for wildlife coming to this neighborhood. Yay!
