Want That Fixed? LLC A remodeling contractor focused on keeping the character in character homes.

I have 15 years professional experience after being raised in a family of carpenters. I believe that even the smallest repair should be done properly and that all projects begin with a conversation.

It’s not easy to photograph crown molding. But it does add some class & character to the three rooms. And little else makes me really feel like a carpenter the way coped corners and returned ends do.

Small projects often make a tremendous difference. Sure, the cedar is fantastic, but what matters is what you can’t see. The framing is a simple, sturdy box of treated lumber. But the crucial details are that the step is half the height at the center of the opening so stepping up is consistent. And that box has been scribed to the walkway. I’m sure you all know that after a few years a poured path is not flat or level. But the steps are. And the framing makes full contact with the walkway. It feels like stepping on the concrete. Reassuring, not wobbly and inconsistent. The truth about most construction is that the details you don’t see make the most difference.

It is the little things.
