In 1994, Tim Kinder started his career behind the wheel of a mixer truck.

Over the years, his work took him through batch plant operations and plant management before leading him into sales, where he continued building the strong customer relationships that have defined his career. Across Lincoln, Gaston, and Cleveland counties in North Carolina, Tim has become known for his reliability, availability, and commitment to great service.

When Tim joined Concrete Supply Co. through the Argos acquisition, he brought that experience and dedication with him to our Charlotte team.

Thirty years in the concrete industry represents more than time on the job. It reflects the relationships built, the customers supported, and the steady commitment Tim has brought to every role along the way.

👷 When people at our Clemson plant talk about Willie Lewis, the same qualities come up again and again: dedication, reliability, and a willingness to go above and beyond whenever the job calls for it.

Over the past 25 years, Willie has supported Concrete Supply Co. through changing seasons and challenging times, always stepping in where needed and approaching each day with a strong work ethic. He is also known for taking great pride in his work, including keeping his truck exceptionally clean and well-maintained.

A few weeks ago, we shared a story about our involvement in a PBS NC Sci NC segment exploring the potential of recycled glass in concrete.

We wanted to expand on that conversation and take a closer look at how local glass recycling efforts, including Envision Charlotte’s Crush Truck, are helping evaluate new opportunities for sustainable material use in our industry.

Glass recycling can be difficult to manage at a local level, but this Charlotte initiative is approaching the challenge from a practical perspective: collecting, processing, and testing glass to better understand its potential role in future concrete mix designs.

Yesterday, we shared a look at the May River School Symposium in Bluffton, SC, where project stakeholders, school officials, architects, engineers, contractors, developers, and industry trades came together around South Carolina’s first public ICF-built school.

Today, we’re taking a closer look at the building system at the center of that conversation. Through presentations, hands-on activities, and a site tour, attendees had the opportunity to see how ICF construction supports some of the priorities that matter most in public school facilities: safety, durability, energy efficiency, long-term performance, and responsible operational costs.

The future 113,000-square-foot school is expected to open for the 2027/2028 school year and serve up to 800 students. For Concrete Supply Co., it is meaningful to be part of a project that is helping open the door to broader conversations about how schools can be built to serve communities for decades.

ICF is one of those building systems that makes more sense when you look at how the wall comes together and all its additional benefits holistically.

Insulating Concrete Forms combine expanded polystyrene (EPS) forms, steel reinforcement, and concrete to create a cast-in-place wall system. The system condenses several traditional building steps into a single, integrated wall assembly. It creates the structure's strength, provides continuous insulation (interior & exterior), acts as an air and v***r barrier, and built-in fastening strips allow direct attachment for interior and exterior finishes.
