Rubble footings ROCK! The lateral stability of these old school rubble footings and masonry piers proved to be impressive. The renovated portion of this building’s foundation washed away in the flooding from Hurricane Helene while the these piers remained intact. As seen, the soil around these rubble footings washed away too.
