Let’s talk about pocket doors and arched openings! Over time we have had a love hate relationship with pocket doors. They are great to save space but what’s in the wall matters . We have learned that widening the wall to 6” allows us to frame with 1 1/2” of wood slats which is far more superior than the metal slats that come with the pocket door kits ! Also preframing for a true arch is a must !!! We are always trying to figure out a better way to build a great home !

When the framing material is staged correctly it makes the entire framing process easier and more efficient!

One thing is for sure if you don’t get the little ones interested we will be loosing hands in the trades faster and labor prices will keep ballooning. Learn a trade and be able to use your head and hands!
