☀️ Another milestone for community solar in Delaware. We're thrilled to celebrate the energization of our second community solar project with TurningPoint in Dover, Delaware. This 4 MWac facility will generate enough clean electricity to help power local homes and businesses while expanding access to affordable renewable energy, including dedicated capacity for low-income households.

As part of our six-project Delaware portfolio, this project reflects the power of collaboration in building a more resilient, sustainable energy future. Together, we're helping deliver local energy savings, supporting state renewable energy goals, and creating meaningful impact in the communities we serve. "At a time when rising energy costs are putting real pressure on households, community solar offers predictable, locally generated power that starts delivering savings more quickly than nearly any other alternative. We're proud to bring that option to this area, and especially to the low- and moderate-income customers this project is designed to serve," Eric Paul said.

A big thank you to our partners at TurningPoint Energy, local leaders, and everyone who helped bring this project to life. The Acadia Center’s Grid Action Report looked at the heat wave that hit New England in early July, and estimated that during the week of June 28 through July 4, distributed solar projects contributed more than six gigawatts in electricity, saving New England ratepayers $130-149 million. On July 2 alone, the report found that solar arrays saved $39 million to $54 million.
