We had a great time building our customer's vision. She wanted to make a more practical/functional use of the space in her bathroom. This was all her design. We built a custom tile shower with mosaic floors throughout. Originally there was a single vanity, but with this new layout she created, we had the space to install a new double vanity. Just a few final steps and this beautiful new space will be completely upgraded!

Our Customers (husband & wife) had a leaky shower that caused damage to their walls, subfloor, and part of the joists. Turns out that the water was leaking through a shower shelves that was installed inset the tile without grouting behind it. Eventually the water seeped right through. After demo of the existing walls and subfloor, I made a new header and some pieces to reinforce the joists. Our plumber changed out all the plumbing and replaced the insulation. We replaced the subfloor. Once the floor was sturdy, it was time to replace some of the damaged studs. The alcove was oversized so we created this look with a custom-sized pan. We constructed the shower and completed all the bells and whistles. The husband and wife were happy with their new & improved custom shower that is now waterproof and backed by a lifetime warranty.

Our Client came to us upset after he trusted an inexperienced "contractor" with his upstairs hallway bathroom. When he did the tile, he cut them carelessly with a dull grinder for every cut and didn't use a wet saw at all. The tile was chipped and jagged. He didn't use spacers, so some of the tile grout lines where at zero or 1/16, while others where 3/8 and 1/2" in some places.

As of January 2022, when we stepped in, our client was remodeling his entire house, as he works in the trades. His Master Bathroom was unfinished, and he needed at least one shower in his home. We got to work. Throughout our process for this project, I made sure that we were delivering on every thing our client asked for. Our client selected a grey glossed porcelain tile, and asked for a Diamond on the back wall with the decorative tile he selected. He asked for the niches to match. We used spacers and a leveling kit as we wanted the tile to be as perfect as humanly possible. As we worked, our client would thank us periodically for delivering on what he asked for and doing a great job. We completed the shower walls, shower floor and the bathroom floor for our client. I asked our client to look over everything carefully, and tell me if there was anything he didn't like or wanted to change. As we were were packing up, he said, "I don't want to change anything, I love what you've done here."

Some of the Older Chicago apartment buildings are not for the faint of heart. This 8-unit, 12-bathroom apartment building needed a lot of love and leveling. We stepped in to do all the plumbing and electrical for the entire building as well as skilled carpentry. Our client asked for our help as some of the building’s floors that were "fixed" by another crew, were still not level and were springy. We needed to rip out the previous work and start over. We leveled the floors (which were 2+inches out of level in some places) and restored the floors to make them solid once again. This building had floating framing as I like to say, so we re-framed walls where it was needed.
With the help of our master plumber, we restored the plumbing for all 8 units according to code, including over 80ft of 1 1/2" copper for the mainline. The existing drainage was unreliable, so we replaced all the drains and vents according to code to ensure proper flow.
The building’s existing electrical conduit was run carelessly, the conduit had too many wires stuffed inside, which is a fire hazard and against code. The circuits were overloaded. We demoed all the old electrical. With the help of our electricians, we pulled the main electric service cables and wires for the entire building from the electric meters in the basement to each apartment's main breaker. We replaced the electric for the AC units and updated the disconnect boxes according to code.

Do you want a little more detail around your bathroom walls? Have you ever thought about bathroom wainscoting? Our customer needed a functional shower and wanted the works. She got it!

You wouldn't know it, but this shower was quite a job. Behind the old shower was 4 walls with concrete and a cast iron tub!! 3/4 of day 1 was demo!! I followed up with a lot of framing and reinforcements. When we completed our work, it was giving functionality with a seat and grab bars! She also now has improved plumbing and water pressure which was a previous isssue! She was excited and happy with this finished look that was tailored to her tastes.

This was a 2-day project that made this bathroom look bright, clean & crisp!

Our customers, (Both husband & wife) asked for a Bright White Acrylic Shower and Trims Throughout. They said they were very unhappy with their previous bathroom project that they had gotten done years ago.

Upon entering their bathroom, I noticed a sign they had hanging on their bathroom door about cherishing others. The next thing I saw, was all the code violations that someone else had done in their bathroom. I realized that our customers were good people that had been taken advantage of. There was a lot of work to do for a bathroom, so I outlined everything that would need to be fixed with our customers, and we got to work.

Previously in my customer's bathroom walls, there was something I call "floating framing". This is where someone put a symbolic amount of framing, that wasn't attached properly to any joists, and it was not stable. Unfortunately, I see this too often in the field, but it's given me a lot of experience in fixing it. It was a good thing I brought a lot of different kinds of lumber that day. I reinforced some of the left side, which was the plumbing wall or wet wall as we like to call it. I re-framed their right side wall because it needed it. The customer/husband was a little surprised that a girl could do skilled carpentry, but when he saw that the work I did was good, he thanked me for it. I let him know, I just want the project to be done right, and that I was just doing what was necessary to make his walls level and strong.

We fixed their plumbing issues over the course of day 1. Day 2 the inspector came out in the late morning and passed our rough-in inspection, and said thank you that the drainage and all rough in work was done to code as promised.

When we completed the project, both customers were happy with the final look. The husband said he couldn't believe how good everything looked as he stood in his new bathroom. I told him thanks for his kindness and hospitality over the 2 days it took to finish his project, and also I was happy that he was happy. Win-Win!!

While we all have varying tastes, who doesn't like looking at some before and after pics? Here's some before and afters of an entire bathroom project we completed. From the shower wet area to the double vanity and wood-look tile flooring. We also completed the paint and new fan install. Some bathrooms need a little more upgrading than just a new shower, Every homeowner has their own needs, tastes and preferences which we accommodate.
