Updated ecoregion map! After researching hundreds of native plants, I felt we needed a more accurate map to distinguish where those plants are native. The new map is also no longer averaged to county lines, giving a more accurate representation of the smaller regions. Our ecoregion article will be updated with the map soon. Feel free to download the map if you find it useful!

You may have noticed it's been a while since I've made a post. I'm currently working on a plant list that uses this map to show each plant's native region. The list has taken much of my time, so new articles have had to take a back seat. I hope to finish the list soon! And after that, I'll return to making more native plant articles. I have a few planned for native trees!

Thank you for your all's continued support and interest in the native plants of Kentucky.

Ingenious, Indigenous cartography: The Tunumiit (Eastern Greenlandic Inuit) practice of carving portable maps out of driftwood to be used while navigating coastal waters. These pieces, which are small enough to be carried in a mitten, represent coastlines in a continuous line, up one side of the wood and down the other. The maps are compact, buoyant, and can be read in the dark.
