Now you see it, now you don’t!

Our client had invasive shrubs taking over their yard!

Euonymus alatus (Common name, Burning Bush ) is a woody shrub native to northeast Asia, popular for its vibrant, fiery-red fall leaves and distinctive, corky "winged" bark.

Invasive Concerns: Because birds spread its seeds, it is highly invasive in North American woodlands, where it outcompetes native plants. It is widely considered an invasive species in many U.S. states, including Ohio.

Happy we could remove these for our client, and looking forward to replacing the shrubs with native plants that will benefit the ecosystem!

Very excited about this collaboration with Rebecca Nava Soto!

The Contemporary Arts Center is excited to announce Rebecca Nava as our Co-Lab Artist for Spring 2025.

Led by artist Rebecca Nava Soto and in collaboration with Old Growth Cooperative, this Co-LAB explores sustainability and Indigenous regeneration through artist-adapted native bee houses. Participants will engage in a process to craft these structures as ritual art objects, serving ecological restoration and reimagining community through the wisdom of the hive.

The first workshop will be Feb. 27, 1:30-3 p.m. in the Creativity Center.

The elder serviceberry offers its abundance

We are excited to share our vision of abundance with you. We believe that our ecosystem can and will provide for our communities if we take steps to protect it.

We at Old Growth do this through regenerative landscaping. This involves designing and managing with our native landscape to enhance biodiversity, soil health, and ecosystem resilience.

A big thank you to for this incredible artwork and collaboration.
