Chico Hot Springs just got even better. So did their floors!

Chico Hot Springs — one of Montana’s most beloved destinations, just north of Yellowstone — just completed a full renovation of their iconic hot spring pools. And when it came time to protect the locker rooms, bathrooms, and shower facilities that thousands of guests will walk through every season, they called Big Paw.

We installed a full flake system across the men’s and women’s all-in-one locker room and shower spaces — built to handle the relentless foot traffic, moisture, and humidity that come with a world-class hot springs resort.

Here’s what we put down:

💧 V***r barrier epoxy basecoat — because moisture is the enemy of any coating system, and we don’t cut corners
🏔️ Full broadcast flake layer — durable, beautiful, and functional
✅ Heavy-duty topcoat with traction additive — wet feet + tile surfaces = a liability. Not here.
📐 8” “stem wall” — sealed up the base of all four walls for a fully waterproof transition that makes cleaning a breeze for the resort staff

The result is a floor system that can handle a Montana winter’s worth of guests, dripping wet, day after day — and still look sharp doing it.

We’re proud to have played a role in this renovation. Chico is a special place. Now the floors match the experience.

Whoever you root for, your floors deserve the best. And that’s exactly what we delivered.

This East Helena basement received a v***r barrier base coat — and if you have a basement, this part actually matters.

Concrete is porous. Moisture moves up through slabs constantly, especially in basements. Without a proper v***r barrier coat, that moisture gets trapped under your floor system — and it will destroy adhesion, bubble your coating, and turn your beautiful new floor into a peeling mess within a season or two.

A v***r barrier base coat seals the slab at the surface level, blocking moisture v***r transmission before it becomes a problem. It’s not optional in a basement environment — it’s the foundation of a floor system that actually lasts.

Proper prep is everything. Before a single drop of coating went down on this Montana City stoop, steps, and sidewalk — we ground off the old failing system completely. No shortcuts.

From there, we installed a 1/8” flake coating system with a 40-grit traction additive in the topcoat to help with slip resistance where it counts— right at the entry of your home.

The finished system is UV stable, chemical resistant, and built to outlast whatever gets thrown at it.

This is what concrete coatings are supposed to look like.

This garage had taken years of chemical abuse from ice melt tracked in off Helena streets and parking lots— deep surface damage that couldn’t just “patched” and forgotten. It had to be addressed at a coating system level.

We started with proper surface prep to open and treat the damaged concrete, filled and sealed all the control joints (the settling of the slab was done — the house is over 10 years old, so this was the right time), then installed a full flake system in a darker blend that ties the whole space together. The joints disappear into the floor. The damage is gone. What’s left is a surface that can handle another decade of Montana winters without flinching.

This is the difference between a coating company and a concrete coating specialist.

Chicken Coop? More like Chicken Palace. 🐔

When you own a concrete coatings company and build a chicken coop that you need as sanitary as possible, you simply cannot leave bare wood alone.

Full flake system on the floors, two feet up the walls, flat coat on the roost bars, and a wood-specific primer on everything underneath — because we know better.

The chickens didn’t ask for this. But here we are.

This basement had a story. Old carpet and a rolled paint on the floor, wood paneling on the walls and a homeowner with a vision for the ultimate man cave.
Rolled paint and store bought epoxy are one of the most common things we replace — moisture gets underneath, traffic wears it through, and eventually the floor looks worse than before it was painted. We installed a proper system: moisture v***r barrier epoxy base coat, full broadcast flake, polyaspartic clear topcoat — three rooms, two closets, and the stair landing. Stain resistant, chemical resistant, and completely uniform.

We just wrapped one of our most ambitious commercial installs to date: in East Helena. And we didn’t just coat a floor — we built a system.

Here’s what went into this project:
