That dark ring isn’t dirt from your clothes. It’s years of detergent mist, fabric softener residue, and splash that never gets rinsed away.

✔ Use LESS detergent (yes, probably half of what you’re using)
✔ Run a monthly cleaning cycle with washing machine cleaner
✔ Dilute fabric softener 50/50 with water — or switch to white vinegar
✔ Leave the lid open after washing so it can dry out

Your lint screen isn’t just fuzzy—it might be filthy.

Most folks clean off the visible lint (good start), but that’s not enough if you want your dryer running right and not turning into a space heater with a grudge.

Here’s how to actually clean it:

Every Load:

Peel the lint off the screen.

Vacuum the lint trap slot occasionally—lint loves to hide where it can do the most damage.

Once a Month (Pro Tip):
Clean the whole screen—especially if you use dryer sheets.
They leave behind a film that blocks airflow and confuses your dryer’s sensors.

Run water over the screen. If it pools up, it’s clogged.

Scrub with dish soap, warm water, and a soft brush.

Rinse and dry completely before reinstalling.

Pro move: Do it when you change your A/C filter.
Same energy. Better airflow all around.
