Alright...here it comes..

Last week I said "the time to act was now." I didn't know I would be this correct this quickly. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news team, but we are all staring down the barrel of a (drum roll please):

***PRICE INCREASE*** (womp-womp)

What does that mean? Exactly what it sounds like, unfortunately. Shingle manufacturers have decided that they want to add a little spice and excitement to our lives that we didn't ask for and raise their prices. How many of the manufacturers, you ask? Well, all of them.

What we can expect: 7% - 15% price hike on materials.

I'm giving myself a wide berth on the percentage on purpose, but bottom line up front is this: installing a new roof on your home is about to get more expensive.

When: April 1st. The fact this happens on April Fool's day has a ton of built in joke material but I'm going to leave that one alone.

Listen...this irritates me too. I'm a homeowner just like y'all. And guess what? I need a new roof too. "The Cobbler's children have no shoes" I think is the phrase. Point being, this is an aggravating fact of life that has been part of this industry for a long time, but seems to have ramped up in tenacity since COVID.

What can you do? Well.....You can call me. I'd advise you to do it quickly, please. Because after April 1st, I can't make any guarantees. But what I can guarantee is that I will stand in the blast zone for you as long as possible and shield you from any potential price increase for as long as possible - even after April 1st.

BUT YOU NEED TO GET ON THE SCHEDULE!

If this is something you've been putting off, the time is truly now to attack it. Because putting a roof on your home is about to get more expensive.

Price increases aren't fun. There's no two ways about it. But you know what IS fun? Memes. Memes are fun. Everyone loves memes. So I made a few them to help explain how our honorable, humble, somewhat fluffy hero (me) will defend you from the perils of price increases.

***The time to act is NOW***

Now that we've all dug out from underneath the ice and snow, it's time to have a conversation. Regardless of whatever the groundhog said in Pennsylvania the other day, one thing is certain:

Spring is coming.

It already feels like it. I know that we're due for at least one more good blast of Arctic weather before its all said and done, but that doesn't mean that we can act like Spring isn't close. It's around the corner.

I have a lot of conversations with people about their roof and I hear this one a lot: "We're looking at getting this done in the late spring, maybe April, May is fine too." And I have to calmly explain to them that if they aren't on the schedule by late February....that roof probably isn't getting done until early to mid April, if they're lucky. If they were to come to me in March, man, good luck...might have to see you in May. It is not uncommon at ALL for us to get backed up 6-7 weeks, if not longer (and thats with PERFECT weather, which we won't have). Make no mistake, we want your business and will put your roof on whenever is convenient for you! But if we're wanting to get this done for graduation parties, Easter, birthdays, pool season, etc....

The time to act is NOW.

If you've been putting off getting a roof replacement estimate, repair estimate, or even installing a new roof system, give me a call. As you can see from the picture below, we can still roof in February, we just need a mildly balmy and dry day! Don't get left behind! I have lots of time now, but won't for long.

As a lot of y’all know…my wife and I are proud former residents of Starkville, Alumni, andBulldogs through and through (though I openly claim Notre Dame as my team from birth).

But college mascots and rivalries don’t matter at all when it comes to matters like what happened in Oxford. They got waylaid by this storm a couple of weeks ago. Bulldogs or not, we are more than happy to help out a Reb in need!

If you or someone you know is hungry, please send them our way tomorrow. We’ll be looking for you. I loved my time in Mississippi. Who knows? I might wonder down there again some day. Please come see us tomorrow for some warm food.

I said in one of my roof clearing videos I’d share a picture of a dead well. There she is, right in the bottom left corner.

This is PRIME real estate for an ice dam, especially if the area is lacking a valley pan. If you have one of these on your home, call me and let’s talk about it.
