Custom built kitchen table instead of an island makes this feel like a real farmhouse kitchen. Plus all of the material except the turned legs was saved from the demo of the original space. That material in the top used to be the joists (support) of the old kitchen ceiling (before we vaulted it). The base material is made of studs from a wall we took out. Brandon Schmiddy with the assist on the build as always.

This little Paw Paw Lake home got a long overdue facelift as well as some “growth”. We added an addition as well as strategically reconfiguring part of the main floor to increase the size of the kitchen, add a main floor bedroom, construct a new bathroom and still fit the laundry and mechanical needs into the house. Client was so pleased with the improvements we completed this year that we are headed back in this winter to give the second floor a facelift as well.

We recently gave this 115 yr old lake home a much needed facelift. It’s still white and black but now there’s new siding to replace the 4 different “vintages” of old siding, new shingles, new shutters to replace the 3 different types of old shutters, a new porch roof and a new interior for the front porch. We also replaced the old converted porch in the back of the house which housed the kitchen and bathroom. She has lived a full life, growing and changing as many generations of the same family (yes, the same family for 115 years) have enjoyed living and lake life here. Now many more will as well. Soil borings happening on this one to ensure we have a good base for the foundation for the addition to construct a new living room and master suite.
