SÓLAS Fireplaces bring warmth, movement, and architectural beauty into luxury interiors without the bulk of a traditional fireplace. With the slimmest profiles in the industry, the SÓLAS Slim-Line series offers a clean built-in look while preserving valuable floor space. Its shallow depth allows designers to create a dramatic fire feature without sacrificing the flow, openness, or layout of the room. Sleek, modern, and intentionally refined, SÓLAS is designed for spaces where every detail matters.

Here is a good look at what can cause your chimney to leak.

Deteriorated mortar joints let water in. When the chimney has been painted, that moisture gets trapped inside and can lead to intrusion into the attic and fireplace area. In this particular case one of flues are sealed shut, so any water that gets in condenses back inside and creates a rainforest effect that causes ongoing damage from the inside out.

A full coverage chimney cap acts as an umbrella for your chimney, shedding all water off to the roof before any of these problems start.

Hearing chirping coming from your chimney? You may have chimney swifts. These small birds arrive in South Carolina in late spring and typically nest in chimneys through late summer before migrating to South America for the winter.

Here is what you need to know:

Chimney swifts are federally protected under the Migratory Bird Treaty Act — removing them, their nests, or their eggs is against the law and can result in significant fines

if you hear something in your chimney now, go ahead and schedule an inspection on what to do next

Chimney swifts are not a reason to panic, but they are a good reminder that your chimney needs professional attention before you use it again. We are glad to help with the inspection, cleaning, and cap installation-. Just Give us a call or book at the link in bio.

A chimney leak is rarely a simple problem. Water can enter through several different points — the cap, the flashing at the roofline, the crown, or the masonry itself — and identifying the correct source requires a thorough on-site evaluation, not a quote from the ground.

Here are a few signs that your chimney may be letting water in:

Water stains on the ceiling or walls near the fireplace
A musty smell coming from the firebox
White mineral deposits on the exterior brick
Rust on the damper or inside the firebox
Crumbling or receding mortar joints

If any of these sound familiar, it is worth a call before the damage goes further. Chimspector evaluates every potential entry point before recommending a repair, and every fix is done with the goal of resolving the problem permanently.

Last week we had the privilege of attending Camp CUI. It was an amazing two day event filled with groundbreaking product booths, great classes, delicious food, and a fellowship you never thought you would find in the fireplace industry.

It was really cool to see exactly where a lot of our products come from and to understand the process that takes place after we click "checkout". We heard from multiple people that this was the best event they had been to in over 20 years in the industry, and it was easy to see why.

We look forward to the next CUI Camp, and we thank all of the vendors and companies that help put this event together, it was one of a kind.

Moisture intrusion can often times be found in concealed areas, such as the attic or the crawlspace. Water finds its way in through uncapped flues, deteriorated mortar joints, and failed flashing. Once it is in, it does not just stop.

A full coverage chimney cap keeps water, debris, and animals out of the flue. Professional waterproofing seals the masonry and stops moisture from penetrating the brick. Together they are the best protection your chimney can have. Our caps carry a Forever Warranty and our waterproofing is backed by a 10-Year Full Warranty.

With a bunch of rain ahead of us in the forecast, now is a perfect time to go take a look and make sure you're all sealed up.

Give us a call at 803-602-5929 or visit our website, we would love to help keep you dry!
