Concrete is tough, durable stuff, but it’s not indestructible. And when it gets really hot under the constant summer sun, all sorts of things can happen:

⚠️ Long periods of drought can cause the supporting soil underneath to shrink, which can cause the slab above to crack and settle.
⚠️Heating from sun exposure can cause concrete slabs to expand and buckle at the joints, creating dangerous tripping or driving hazards.
⚠️Heat expansion can even cause the concrete slabs in your street to expand and exert pressure on your driveway, all the way up into your home’s foundation!
