Unfortunately it's hard to fight a big company like Mad City. They have a lot of funds, strong legal aide, and an understanding of the ambiguities in the law...
*In my opinion it should ABSOLUTELY BE ILLEGAL for any purchase or job to be completed without fully disclosing the financing/loan amortization table which included terms such as interest rates! The company had more than 2 months to supply these prior to the job, but they were not received until we pushed for them about 2 months after the install!
*It should ABSOLUTELY BE ILLEGAL to accept an esignature because even they can't verify or prove that it wasn't their salesman who accepted the loan! My parents never had a wet signature (i.e. using a pen and physically signing and accepting the financing terms...)
*It should be illegal to run promotions on a website and not honor those or disclose them on the contracts so customers can verify their application. Vague contract verbiage such as "All Promos Applied" is unacceptable!
So we will have to end this fight and move forward with our lives. A small concession from the financing company did drop the interest rate to 9.99% and will give them 12 months of no interest.
However, my parents both in their 80s with their fixed social security income still have had to deal with this stress, insecurity and deception by a company who have shown them that this world is no longer a place where you can be trusting of people who pretend to be caring and forthright. They learned that our legal system does not protect the honest and small but those big established businesses will win: They had to learn these ugly lessons to the tune of $30,000 for their 8 typical-sized average windows 😢 😠or we will incur those costs as their children or with the sale of their home.
*Please do not fall for these despicable, outrageous, expensive, predatory sales practices from this company!
*Another warning for you that I have learned is that even clicking on a link in an email can add your auto e-signature to documents! (This did not happen to my parents, but easily could have with the new documents generated by the service financing company.)
Please safeguard yourselves. Ask other trusted family members before making big decisions and purchase. Make sure you have all information stated clearly in writing before signing anything! Do not trust big businesses as they just want your money. Buy from small businesses if possible because they need the money, are a part of your community, and bad publicity can hurt them. Please share this information and watch out for your friends and neighbors, so that our experience can help others. We have to because no one else will... Good luck to you all and be blessed!
