HAPPY SUNDAY !
Please review the following post as we have received an increase in phone calls and text messages, and this may help clarify questions and concerns regarding Appointment Times, Payments, Water Levels & Old Docks.
1. APPOINTMENT TIMES -
Sadly, given the nature of docks we cannot give out appointment times or timeframes. It is almost impossible for us to keep to those times as some docks are quick and some can take hours to complete. This has been explained when setting up the schedule. Docks change constantly given more are being added to the schedule regularly, and we make the route for the day that makes the most logical and efficient sense. We like to joke that we are like the cable guy, we give you a date but unlike the cable guy, we ACTUALLY SHOW UP. Jeff gets started on weekdays after 4pm and weekends after 8am. He goes until the docks on the schedule that day are finished. He does not call when he is on to the next because he is generally soaked from being in the lake and prefers not to handle electronics. While we do understand that some clients do not live at the lake year round, but you are given a date when he will be there. You are welcome to leave us detailed notes, emails.
2. PAYMENT -
We offer a variety of payment methods from leaving cash for Jeff to grab before he leaves to credit card payments. We will NO LONGER be making second trips back to your house to pick up cash because it was not left the day they installed or removed your docks. Between the cost of fuel and time, we simply do not have it to make multiple trips.
3. WATER LEVELS -
There have been a lot of concerns about lake levels and spring storms over the last couple of years. Lucky Duck still installs docks. If you want to be moved from the schedule then you are subject to what we have available. I cannot just schedule your dock for the next day or the next weekend because we are more than likely already booked. If you are concerned about water levels, try placing concrete blocks or water barrels on your dock to help secure them with weight. Many of our dock clients have had success with those methods.
4. OLD DOCKS -
Lucky Duck Services does not due regular dock maintenance as part of your install and removal. We offer a variety of services to repair them. But we cannot control ice in the winter, storms in the summer or docks becoming old and rotten over time. We will gladly help you fix your dock or hoist, or help you with an upgrade if you want too. However, we do reserve the right to not install your dock or part of your dock if it is deemed too dangerous. If deck boards are completely rotten and unsecured or stanchions are so filled with holes they are no longer stable, someone could get hurt.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read our updates. If you have further questions, please feel free to reach out. We wish you all a wonderful, warm and LONG summer!
