If you’re redoing your bathroom floor and have it torn down to the subfloor, take a few extra minutes and add screws along every floor joist, right alongside the existing nails.

It’ll help get rid of any squeaks you have now and prevent new ones from showing up later.

Because there’s nothing worse than installing a beautiful new tile floor… just to hear SQUEAK every time someone walks into the bathroom.

✨ Another Bathroom Transformation Complete! ✨

This project was more than a bathroom remodel, it was about creating a safer, more comfortable space for our client to enjoy for years to come.

We replaced the old bathtub with a beautiful walk-in tile shower, removed the bulkhead above the shower to make the room feel larger and more open, and installed a custom tile niche, tile flooring, a new vanity, toilet, recessed medicine cabinet, updated lighting, fixtures, and fresh white paint throughout.

The result is a bright, clean, timeless bathroom that’s not only beautiful, but also easier and safer to use every day.

🛁 Bathroom Remodel Complete!

What started as an outdated bathroom is now a clean, bright, and functional space that this family can enjoy for years to come.

This project included:
✔️ New bathtub and surround
✔️ Custom tile work
✔️ Custom recessed storage cabinet
✔️ New flooring
✔️ Updated plumbing and electrical
✔️ Fresh paint and finish work throughout

One of the unique challenges on this project was that it was the home’s only bathroom, so we worked hard to keep things as comfortable and functional as possible throughout the remodel process.

Another big step forward on this bathroom remodel🔨

All of the tile is officially installed and grouted.

Today was focused on prep work for the finish phase:
✔️ First coat of drywall mud
✔️ Fresh floor protection
✔️ Getting everything ready for paint and final installation

Next week this project is really going to start coming together.

Always exciting when a project starts transitioning from construction zone to finished bathroom.

Big progress on this bathroom remodel today 👊

Finished tiling the shower back wall and started bringing this space to life.

Also built a custom recessed storage cabinet that will eventually be painted and trimmed out for a clean built-in look and extra towel storage.

Still plenty left to do, but it’s finally starting to look like a bathroom again instead of a construction zone 🔨

Next up:
✔️ More tile
✔️ Wainscoting
✔️ Trim work
✔️ Finishing details that bring it all together

See all those air bubbles? 👀

That’s why we pre-soak certain ceramic tiles before installation.

Ceramic tile can be extremely porous and will suck moisture out of the thinset too quickly if it’s too dry. That can lead to poor adhesion and tile failure over time.

It’s the small details most people never see that help ensure a bathroom lasts for years to come. 🔨

Another big step forward on this bathroom remodel🔨

Over the last few days we’ve:
✔️ Completed the plumbing and electrical rough-ins
✔️ Installed the new drywall
✔️ Waterproofed the tub surround
✔️ Installed the tile floor
✔️ Protected and prepped the space for the next phase

This project has been a unique challenge because the homeowners only have one toilet, so we’ve been working around that to keep things as comfortable and functional as possible for them throughout the remodel.

That’s meant temporarily reinstalling the toilet at the end of each day so they’re not left without a restroom overnight. Not always the easiest route, but taking care of the client experience matters just as much as the finished product.

Next up:
➡️ Custom recessed storage cabinet build
➡️ Trim work
➡️ Tile, tile, and more tile 👊

This bathroom is going to feature tiled wainscoting and a fully tiled tub surround, and it’s starting to come together nicely. Stay tuned for the transformation.

Day 2 progress on this bathroom remodel 🔨

✔️ Installed new subfloor throughout the entire bathroom
✔️ Set the new bathtub
✔️ Installed uncoupling membrane to prep for tile
✔️ Prepped the room for rough-in work for the mechanicals

A lot of the most important work in a remodel is the part nobody will ever see once the project is finished.
Solid prep work = longer lasting floors, fewer issues down the road, and a bathroom built the right way from the ground up.

Slowly bringing this one back to life. 👊
