💦 Fiberglass Pool Owners: Water Chemistry Matters More Than You Think! 💦

One of the biggest misconceptions we see is that all swimming pools should be maintained the same way. Fiberglass pools require a different approach to protect the gelcoat and keep your investment looking new for years to come.

Here are a few key guidelines:

✅ Keep pH between 7.2–7.4 (never above 7.6)
✅ Maintain chlorine at 1–3 ppm
✅ Keep calcium hardness low (0–120 ppm)
✅ Use a stain & scale preventative every 6 months—especially on saltwater pools.

⚠️ The biggest takeaway: Fiberglass pools do NOT like high chlorine levels. Over-shocking or consistently running high chlorine can cause oxidation, fading, and permanent damage to the gelcoat finish.
