Giving back means even more when it’s close to home. 🍑

We’re proud to support Kelly Mill Elementary through Georgia’s PEACH Education Tax Credit! With our headquarters right here in Cu***ng, it’s especially meaningful to invest in the community where we work and live. Hearing the school’s plans for these funds made us even more excited about the opportunities ahead for its students and teachers.

The PEACH program allows Georgia individuals and businesses to redirect a portion of their state income taxes to support public education through approved contributions, receiving a dollar-for-dollar state income tax credit in return. It’s a meaningful way to put tax dollars to work for Georgia’s students.

Thank you, Kelly Mill Elementary, for the work you do every day. We’re grateful to play a small part!

We had a great time at Clays for a Cause supporting Piedmont Newton!

Our team had the opportunity to spend the day with some of our clients out on the course, enjoy a little friendly competition, and support an organization that does so much for our local communities.

C.L. Burks was also proud to serve as the bourbon sponsor for the event. Piedmont purchased a special barrel of K**b Creek, which was bottled specifically for Clays for a Cause. Such a fun and unique addition to the day!

We enjoyed welcoming everyone by our tent, handing out some C.L. Burks swag and ci**rs, and spending time with clients, partners, and friends.

Thank you to Piedmont Foundation for putting together another great event and for everything you continue to do for the community. We’re proud to support you!

Storm prep starts before the first leak. 🌧️

Hurricane season has officially began. With Hurricane Isaias approaching and storm impacts expected across the Southeast this weekend, now is the time to prepare your commercial property.

Here’s what commercial roof preparation looks like before, during and after the storm:

🔹 BEFORE:
• Have a roofing professional check for loose flashing, open seams and existing damage.
• Clear debris from drains, gutters and scuppers so water can flow freely.
• Check that rooftop equipment is properly secured.
• Document current roof conditions and share your emergency response contacts with your team.

🔹 DURING:
• Keep everyone off the roof and follow local weather alerts.
• Monitor interior leaks only where it is safe to do so.
• Keep people away from wet electrical equipment, sagging ceilings and affected areas.
• Report leaks promptly so your roofing team can coordinate a response when conditions allow.

🔹 AFTER:
• Schedule a professional roof inspection, even if you don’t see an active leak.
• Document damage from a safe location and keep records of repairs.
• Address damage quickly to help prevent additional water intrusion and disruption to your business.

Serving up a pretty great day with IREM SC! 🏓

We had a great time sponsoring and participating in IREM South Carolina Chapter 72’s inaugural Pickleball Tournament last week!

From time on the courts to good conversations with industry friends, it was a fun afternoon filled with competition, connection, and supporting a great organization and cause.

We have to give a special shoutout to James and Zach from the C.L. Burks team, who took home 1st place! 🥇 Can’t say we were expecting to be bringing home the gold!

Thank you to IREM South Carolina for putting together such a fun event and giving us the opportunity to be part of the inaugural tournament. Congrats, James & Zach! 🏆

We had a great time at the BOMA Golf Tournament! ⛳️

Our team had the fun job of driving the beverage cart, catching up with familiar faces, meeting new ones, and wishing everyone a great round out on the course.

Today, we pause to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, the families who carry their memory, and the heroes who showed extraordinary courage in the face of unimaginable tragedy.

We honor the first responders who ran toward danger, the ordinary people who helped one another, and all those whose lives were forever changed that day.

Twenty-five years later, we remember their names, their stories, their courage, and their sacrifice.

We will never forget. 🇺🇸
