These photos tell a story. The #2 and #3 roofing contractor cut corners by not removing the felt paper. All shingle manufacturers require all felt paper be removed so the decking can be inspected.
This is why it’s so important to make sure you hire a certified contractor that is going to install a certified roofing system and not just a roof on your property.

Here’s a very rare sight. The previous contractor removed all the old felt paper before they put a new roof on.
Oh wait….
We did this roof back in March of 2023. We did things right the first time then and still doing it right.👍

I just want to thank the roofing company that came out and made these marks on this roof with some kind of tool to make it look like hail damage. Homeowner call me to get a second opinion. They told me that another roofing contractor inspected his roof and said it had hail damage. Before I climbed on the roof I walked around to look at all their windows and downspouts. Not any evidence of hail damage I could find. Even on the lower gutters, nothing. I told the homeowner before I climbed on the roof they probably didn’t have any hail damage to the shingles.
I climbed on the roof as they stood outside watching me, they didn’t do this with the previous contractor. I walked the entire roof top to bottom. The only places that had markings on the shingles was the one the previous contractor circulated with chalk. I took pictures to show the homeowner. I climbed down and showed them the photos. I told them there is no hail damage on your shingles, and the spots the previous contractor circled was not hail damage. Homeowner then told me they filed a claim for hail damage and asked me to be there to meet adjuster. I met the adjuster and told him what I thought and seen. Long story short, insurance paid for a new roof and homeowner let me do it. That’s a win for me in my book🤩

The re-install of solar panels tomorrow. The new Gutters/downspouts first of next week, then wood fence staining to finish up this project. 💪
