Harvey Disaster Victims:
More and more reports of contractors ( mitigation and repair) quoting small up front costs and billing FEMA directly for services, then getting stuck with $10k plus bills because they are charging non FEMA covered labors or services.

Remember to get a complete, specifically outlined estimate before signing and beginning work. If FEMA does not pay you enough to cover the bill (in many cases the funds will be limited for on coverage) you are stuck with the remaining amount. This puts you in danger of collections and a lien on your home until paid. If it sounds too good to be true then don't move forward!

Do your homework, check the background and presence of the company to prove its legitimacy, make sure prices are industry standard, and don't begin until a final estimate is provided for scope of work.

What do we really do? Many people wonder about what happens when your home has an event that causes water damage. Here is how it works!

1. WATER EXTRACTION: when water enters materials like carpet, drywall, laminate, hardwood, or crawl spaces it must be removed. Mold and mildew can start in as little as 48 hours so removing standing water is step 1 to properly treating your home!
