A huge THANK YOU to everyone who took the time to vote for their favorite nonprofit for our 15 year anniversary! ❤️ Your votes helped shine a light on organizations doing incredible work in our community.

Congratulations to City Missions, our winner! 🎉

City Missions is doing meaningful, hands-on work with people experiencing homelessness. Their team go directly into encampments, parks, sidewalks, and other places where people are living, building relationships and meeting people where they are. They provide essentials such as socks, clothing, hygiene kits, food, water, and seasonal supplies, but their mission goes far beyond meeting an immediate need. They connect people with resources for shelter, medical care, IDs, showers, recovery programs, and other services that can help create a pathway toward stable housing.

What really stands out is their belief that people need more than a handout, they need relationships, dignity, resources, and someone willing to keep showing up. Their work is about walking alongside people experiencing homelessness and helping them take the next step toward stability.

But most importantly, this is about ALL of the nonprofits that were nominated and voted on. Every one of these organizations is doing important work, and we hope you’ll take the time to get to know them. Learn about their mission, follow their work, volunteer, donate, or simply reach out and ask, “How can I help?”

Sometimes the biggest impact starts with simply becoming aware of the needs around us and choosing to get involved. ❤️

Thank you everyone who participated!
I hope more than anything it opened up the eyes to everyone about all the awesome local none profits that we have in our area and I challenge everyone on here to get more involved. It’s not just about donating money but a lot of these organizations count on volunteers to help donate items and their time to keep things running.

I encourage you to go through and read the stories and testimonies that everyone has left about each of these organizations and see how you can help.

As far as the winner, well that will be announced next week so stay tuned!!! 😉

First, I want to sincerely thank everyone who has taken the time to vote for their favorite nonprofit and share the incredible stories behind them. Reading your comments has been inspiring, and it’s been amazing to see just how many organizations are making a real difference in our community.

More than anything, I hope this shines a light on the important work these nonprofits do and encourages others to get involved, whether that’s by volunteering, donating, or simply spreading the word.

🚨Voting will officially close on August 21st🚨, so if there’s a nonprofit you haven’t nominated yet, or one you’d like to see receive a few more votes, there’s still time!

Once voting closes, I’ll reach out to the winning organization and, if possible, film a video highlighting the incredible work they do before presenting them with the donation.

Right when I thought we seen it all, I get a call from a lovey lady that mentioned she needed a garage door installed on a hay bale house.

At first thinking it was a joke, the lady asked me to come by to look at it and I couldn’t resist. When I pulled up I was in awe! It was an actual HAY BALE HOUSE!!!

I met with the homeowner who was building the house herself and she spent a lot of time educating and telling about the structure, plans, and benefits to this design. She also informed me that she was the only one in DFW, possibly the whole state of Texas to build one. So with that said,

I’m proud to announce we are the only garage door company that has ever installed a garage door on a hay bale house in the state of Texas!!!!An achievement that I never knew existed. 😂

She still has a lot of work on the house as well as installing a type of mud over the hay bales to help protect and seal the hay. I would recommend going online and doing research on hay bale houses, it’s very interesting and very cost effective.
