Why the 28-day wait before sealing stamped or colored concrete?

It all comes down to curing. Fresh concrete is full of water - that water needs to ev***rate slowly so the concrete can reach its full strength and hardness. If you seal it too soon, you trap that moisture inside.

Here's what can go wrong if you rush it:
Blotchy, uneven color. Trapped moisture pushes sealer off in spots, leaving light or dark patches.

Delamination - The sealer can peel or bubble up because the concrete underneath is still releasing moisture v***r.
Poor adhesion - Sealer won't bond as well, so it wears off faster and needs to be reapplied sooner.

Waiting the full 28 days gives the concrete time to cure completely. Once that water is gone, the surface is ready to accept sealer evenly - giving you a durable, beautiful finish that lasts.

Bottom line: patience pays off. That month of waiting means your stamped or colored concrete looks great and holds up for years🪨

A new walkway through the woods to tie the cabins together - connecting old family cabins that have stood here for generations. That border detail makes all the difference: functional, clean, and built for foot traffic, and many more decades of use, without losing that forest feel. 🌲
