It’s Labor Day weekend, the Dawgs are back, and apparently Georgia forgot that September is supposed to mean fall. 🥵

With temperatures pushing the upper 90s, there will probably be plenty of cold drinks, extra showers, loads of laundry and water running around the house this weekend. Your plumbing may not be getting much of a holiday.

Whether you’re headed to Athens for kickoff, watching from the comfort of the A/C or spending the weekend by the pool, we hope you get a chance to slow down and enjoy the long weekend. Georgia has been HOT lately.! With temperatures hanging out in the upper 90s, most of us are naturally using more water than usual.

Between running the sprinklers, filling up the kids' pools, watering plants, extra showers and more laundry, it adds up pretty quickly. So if your water bill is a little higher this time of year, that's not necessarily unusual. But if you open that bill and think, "There's no way we used THAT much water," it may be worth taking a closer look.

A dripping outdoor faucet, leaking irrigation line, running toilet or hidden plumbing leak could be adding to your water usage without you realizing it.

How old is your water heater? It's probably not something most homeowners think about...until they wake up to a cold shower. 😅

Most traditional water heaters last about 8–12 years. If yours is getting close to that age, it's worth paying attention to a few warning signs before it decides to quit on you.

Keep an eye out for:
➡️ Rust-colored water coming from your hot water tap
➡️ Rumbling, popping, or other unusual noises
➡️ Running out of hot water faster than you used to
➡️ Water collecting around the base of the tank

A water heater doesn't always fail without warning. In many cases, it gives you little clues that it's nearing the end of its life.

It’s funny how plumbing problems never seem to happen when you have absolutely nothing going on. 😂
