Young farmers and ranchers: a new grant could help fund your next grazing project.

The The National Young Farmers Coalition’s Next Generation Farmer Fund offers $10,000–$50,000 grants for producers 40 and under who are adding a new conservation practice in 2027, including rotational grazing, livestock integration into cropland, and silvopasture.

If virtual fencing is part of how you’d put that practice to work, consider Nofence as a part of your application. Our team is here to help with estimates for investment in our precision livestock management system.

📅 Applications open Oct. 28 and close Dec. 1

Note: Nofence is not affiliated with the National Young Farmers Coalition. Eligibility and funding decisions are made solely by the Next Generation Farmer Fund.

I'm off to Santa Fe for REGENERATE 2026: Stewardship in Action! ✈

If you're planning to attend, let's make time to shake hands!

Although I'll be managing the behind-the-scenes logistics of the event itself, I'll also have a bit of time to connect with agricultural producers, industry representatives, and curious conference attendees.

I'd love to meet you, learn more about your story, and find out how my business can help to support your work. 🤗

Will I see you in Santa Fe? Drop a comment below if you're planning to attend the conference! ⤵

I recently saw a post in which a man was describing the way he uses ChatGPT/Claude to analyze the cattle market, store data on his herd, and analyze said data to assist him in the decision-making process.

All I could think about is the lack of data security…

Is it helpful for him? I’m sure.
Is it faster and more efficient? Certainly.

But where does your data live? And who has access to it? And what are “they” doing with it? And most of all — why does the answer to those questions (or lack thereof) not keep us up at night?

Your on-ranch management data is perhaps one of the most valuable assets your operation will ever own.

It kills me to see people give it away without even a thought…

Don’t get me wrong, technologies of all shapes and sizes have excellent management advantages — and I believe they belong on the ranch, but not without some serious conversation about data storage, security, and ownership.

If you take anything away from this post, please let it be this:
YOUR DATA IS INCREDIBLY VALUABLE.
TREAT IT AS SUCH.

I remember telling Matt shortly after we first met, "I'm not worried about payment – I just want to support your business."
..and that's the honest truth!

I'm blessed to offer a service in which I'm not out anything but my time, which makes supporting rural families like the Guderjahns even simpler – no wholesale cost, no product loss, no logistics to juggle...

I work in agriculture because I love the people – because I genuinely want to see them prosper. Hearing Matt's story about starting Lone Feather Hats in his kitchen only a few years ago was inspiring to say the least.

He, like so many other entrepreneurs, was inconvenienced by a problem with no solution, so he decided to create the solution himself!

Needless to say, I am immensely grateful for this partnership, for God's hand in bringing our two businesses together, and for the friendship I now have with Matt, his wife Katee, and their two awesome kiddos.

If you're looking for a truly one-of-a-kind, handmade, authentic beaver felt hat, check out Lone Feather Hat Co, a family-owned small business based in Carter, Montana.
