Another little one we wrapped up in DeLand yesterday! Not all jobs are glamorous or what have you. For this one, the customer installed the patio himself quite a few years ago, and unfortunately instead of setting the stones on paver base, he only used sand. There were also no concrete edge restraints used, so that combination ultimately led to movement and failures. It was also pitched WAY too much, which made even just standing on it feel pretty awkward.
We came in and ripped everything out, excavated for our 4" of base, installed and compacted the base, and re-laid the patio with the correct pitch. We also got rid of the pieced together corners around the pergola posts and replaced them with some pavers we had laying around at the shop for a little bit of a tighter look. We also made sure the patio was as symmetrical as possible (the posts for the pergola were crazy out of wack), as it was nowhere close before. And last but not least, we gave it a little cleaning for a refreshed look.

A nice little paver patio and walkway we finished up midday Wednesday out in Astor for one of our repeat customers. We had a few hiccups along the way on this one with some irrigation breaks during excavation, but ultimately it turned out nice and we got over the hurdles. We went back yesterday morning to do a little more irrigation work/ adjustments, and we'll go back again in a couple/ few weeks to get it sealed up. After it's sealed, this customer can enjoy their new outdoor area worry free for years to come!
