We’re back at the Downtown Farmers' Market - DSM this weekend and we’re bringing a fresh batch of Pineapple Apple Peno!

We got a beautiful harvest of jalapeños from farmbaby_ia and we had to make this sauce. One of our favorite mild sauces, perfect for hot summer days.

Survive nine brutal rounds of escalating heat, keep your composure, and outlast everyone else to earn the title of 2026 Valley Junction Farmers Market Hot Pepper Eating Champion. Only 12 competitors get a shot.

Your $25 registration guarantees your spot in the competition and includes an exclusive contest t-shirt. Once all 12 contestant spots are filled, additional registrations will be placed on a waiting list and contacted if an opening becomes available.

PRIZES:
1st Place: $300 in prizes, including cash, Valley Junction Gift Certificates, a 2026 Champion shirt or hat, and an Iowa Pepper Co. hot sauce pack.
