U.S. Army Infantry Shoulder Cord
Also known as the Infantry Blue Cord, this blue rope is worn over the Army Service Uniform's right shoulder by officers and enlisted personnel. It was created during the Korean War to boost morale and to show that ground troops are doing the majority of the work in combat. The cord is presented to all infantry-qualified soldiers after their Advanced Individual Training, and commissioned officers receive it after graduating from the U.S. Army Infantry School's Infantry Officer Basic Course.
