We built the Thompson-King home in Mancos back in 2020. It’s a 3-bedroom, 2-bath custom home with two generous living spaces and an open-concept kitchen that brings everything together.

One of the things we really love about this home is how much natural light it gets. It features large windows throughout, which let the sunlight pour in from every angle. It gives the whole house a calm, welcoming feel.

It’s one of those spaces that just feels good to be in—simple, intentional, and filled with warmth.

One of our favorite features from the Smith home is this timber frame pergola. We built it using locally harvested Engelmann Spruce that had been affected by beetle kill—giving these standing-dead trees new purpose while also helping promote forest health.

Removing beetle kill can reduce wildfire risk and support regeneration, so using this wood felt like a win all around.

Our crew put a lot of care into the layout and joinery on this one. It’s simple, strong, and built to last—exactly the kind of work we take pride in.

It’s not flashy, but it’s the kind of detail that brings a home to life.

Remembering one of the most engaging and rewarding projects we've taken on. Nestled in the landscape of Mancos, Colorado, this custom home is a high-efficiency beauty featuring papercrete block walls, a striking exposed timber frame, and a spacious open concept kitchen perfect for gatherings.

Papercrete—yes, actual recycled paper—is a unique material with an impressively high R-value. Not only did it allow us to build a solid, durable home, but it also drastically reduced the project’s carbon footprint.

The result? A stunning and sustainable home that’s warm in winter, cool in summer, and intentionally crafted from the ground up.
