Professional Water Mitigation Services for Fast Water Damage Response

Water mitigation is the critical first step in preventing further damage after a water loss. When flooding, leaks, or burst pipes occur, immediate water mitigation helps protect your property from structural damage, mold growth, and costly repairs.

Professional water mitigation services include emergency water extraction, drying and dehumidification, moisture detection, and removal of damaged materials. Using industrial-grade equipment, trained technicians eliminate hidden moisture from walls, floors, and structural components to restore a safe environment.

If your home or business experiences water damage from storms, plumbing failures, appliance leaks, or sewage backups, fast water mitigation is essential. Acting quickly can significantly reduce restoration time and overall repair costs.

Here's how you can prepare your home or property for Denver's big freeze this weekend:

1. Ensure furnace filters are clean to keep your heating system running efficiently.

2. Open cabinets with plumbing to allow warm air to circulate around pipes, reducing the risk of freezing.

3.Close blinds or curtains to help insulate your home and retain heat.

4.Set your thermostat to at least 70Ëš to maintain consistent warmth throughout your home.

5.Keep water flowing by setting faucets to a steady drip to help prevent frozen pipes.

Removing mold effectively depends on the type and extent of the mold growth. Here’s a step-by-step guide to safely and thoroughly eliminate mold in common situations:

# # # 1. **Identify the Type of Mold and the Affected Area**
- **Small areas**: Less than 10 square feet, like in a shower or on a small wall patch, can usually be handled by homeowners.
- **Large areas**: Over 10 square feet, or mold in hidden areas (inside walls, in HVAC systems) may require professional remediation.

# # # 2. **Wear Protective Gear**
- Wear gloves, an N95 mask, and eye protection.
- Ensure good ventilation by opening windows or using a fan to direct air outside.

# # # 3. **Use Effective Cleaning Solutions**
- **White Vinegar**: Straight white vinegar (not diluted) is a powerful anti-fungal that can kill mold on most surfaces. Spray directly onto the moldy area and let it sit for at least an hour before scrubbing.
- **Hydrogen Peroxide**: 3% hydrogen peroxide can be sprayed directly on mold. Leave it for 10 minutes, scrub, and rinse.
- **Baking Soda**: Mix 1/4 tablespoon of baking soda with water in a spray bottle. Spray the mold, scrub it off, then rinse and spray again to prevent regrowth.
- **Bleach (for non-porous surfaces only)**: Mix one cup of bleach with a gallon of water, spray or sponge on, scrub, and rinse. Avoid using bleach on porous materials (wood, drywall) as it won’t pe*****te and can cause further issues.

# # # 4. **Scrub and Rinse the Area**
- Use a stiff-bristle brush to scrub the mold and spores away.
- Rinse thoroughly and dry the area with a cloth.

# # # 5. **Prevent Future Mold Growth**
- Control moisture by using a dehumidifier or fan, fixing leaks, and improving ventilation.
- Consider applying a mold-resistant primer or paint in high-risk areas like bathrooms and basements.

If mold growth is extensive or you’re sensitive to mold exposure, calling a professional mold remediation service is best. They’ll handle larger infestations safely and prevent regrowth.
