Today was a lot of strategizing and maintenance while we waited for some fleeces to dry, but we did get to make another skein of yarn! (We think this style might become our signature🤍🧶🐑)

Training day 3:
-made two ply Lopi (SUPER FLUFFY) yarn from Alpaca
-learned to clean and maintain the spinners, fiber separator, and carders
-discovered there is too much humidity for the machines to work properly so we need a humidifier (or a hairdryer for the electric boards-which served as a rather inconvenient temporary solution today)
-Started picking and carding fiber for another batch of white wool yarn
-started spinning another batch of three ply alpaca

Overall I think it’s safe to say Day 3 with was another great success!

Day 4:
We were LOVING the warm weather yesterday!

While continues to work on the electric, we were so happy to receive a visit from our friends Kristie and Emily from Hawley Farm!

Our small flock of sheep (before they had lambs) originally came from Hawley Farm just over a year and a half ago so it was like a little family reunion 🐑

Kristie and Emily were passing through town and we saw it as the perfect opportunity to reconnect 🤍

The sheep were so happy to have a little visit from their previous owners and Kristie and Emily were delighted to meet the next generation of lambs running around the yard in the sunshine ☀️

PS- swipe to the end to see some progress on the electrical work :)
