When your AC unit literally needs a haircut. ✂️👀
Got a call from a neighbor whose upstairs AC gave up in this Oklahoma heat. Popped the side panel off and found this: a condenser coil suffocated in a thick blanket of dirt, lint, and cottonwood, right next to a blown dual run capacitor.
Here’s what happens:
Restricted Airflow: That thick layer blocks air from passing through the fins, meaning heat can’t escape.
Overheating & High Head Pressure: The compressor and fan motor have to work twice as hard to move heat.
Blown Parts: Excessive heat and strain are the #1 killer of capacitors (and eventually, compressors).
A fresh capacitor and a deep coil wash got this system breathing easy and blowing ice-cold air again. ❄️
