With the impending winter storm being forecast for El Dorado County please be prepared. There are some great preparedness tips in our previous posts, so feel free to scroll back through. Here are some quick simple tips that can help you to stay safe and prepared:
Take a few simple steps now to stay safe and prepared:
Power & Heat: Have backup power sources like generators or extra propane for heaters and stoves. Charge all essential devices in advance.
Fuel Up: Keep your vehicles and extra fuel (gasoline, diesel, or propane) stocked up in case of prolonged outages or travel needs.
Emergency Kit: Flashlights, batteries, blankets, and a battery-powered radio can be lifesavers if the power goes out.
Food & Water: Have non-perishable food and at least 3 daysโ worth of water for each person in your household.
Medical Needs: Stock up on prescriptions, first aid supplies, and any special items needed for family members or pets.
Stay Informed: Sign up for emergency alerts, have a weather radio, and follow local agencies for updates.
Travel Caution: If you must drive, check road conditions, carry emergency supplies in your car, and avoid unnecessary trips.
