This was one of my last projects I squeezed in before winter. Not a big one but it was really fun. I had to match an existing exposed aggregate pool deck and sidewalk with new sidewalk, stairs, and a planter box along the fence. The new exposed aggregate was a perfect match and I couldn’t have been happier with how it all turned out.

Last year in the early fall I teamed up with another contractor to build the foundation for his customers addition. I helped him pour the footer and another pad. As he finished his other project we built this foundation so he could get on site and start framing.

Earlier this summer I was able to help out the Mt Jewett Senior Center with another accessibility issue. Their sidewalk wasn’t wide enough to push a wheel chair into the handicap entrance without going into the grass. This was a huge issue come winter time. I removed all the old sidewalk and poured a new 5’ wide sidewalk for them. They had a lot of water runoff from the neighboring property so I installed a French drain on the high side of the walk. They also had a broken down spout drain that I repaired while installing the new French drain.

This one was a long job with multiple projects. The inlet pipe to the pond was rusted through and water was flowing mostly around the pipe to the pond. You couldn’t walk through the grass it was so soft. I cleared the brush for access to the upper silted in ditch, removed the pipe, cleaned the ditch and let it sit a while to firm up. Once everything dried up I returned to build a foot bridge over the ditch. Next was a fountain for the pond. I installed about 200’ of underground electric to supply the new fountain. I also installed a new sub panel, the control panel for the fountain and a few GFCI outlets at the pond fire pit/gazebo area. After all the electrical work was completed the fountain was installed in the pond. This fountain is so cool at night. I added some pictures of the lawn and landscaping to show how clean the property was kept during the electric install. The customer didn’t want to have a mess as he was having a little family reunion shortly after all the work was completed. I pulled all the mulch, limestone, and rocks out of the landscaping dug in the electric and replaced it all. I also stripped out all the sod from the lawn set it aside, placed it back and rolled it in so it looks as if no one had worked there. I then turned my attention to some drain and runoff issues. With all our spring rain the driveway had multiple runoff issues and limestone that had washed away. I dug those out put in some larger stone that would hold and top dressed with limestone. I had to fix a sinkhole at the pond dock. I fixed the drain, removed all the pavers in the problem area, installed a new bulkhead, tamped new backfill and laid the pavers back. To finish off all the work I lined the upper driveway with some unused boulders/rocks the customer wanted to put on the corner of the driveway. It looks great and helps divert some runoff water.

Last year I helped this customer with some accessibility issues into their home and poured a new ramp/front porch and sidewalks in the back. This year they had me come back to remove their leaning retaining walls and complete the landscaping around their home. This ended up being a big project with drain issues behind the walls that I replaced/repaired, plumbed their gas line so I could move the electric generator and graded where the walls where so they could use the riding mower. All the new beds, fresh mulch, and new plantings look beautiful and gave their home lots of curb appeal.

This one is a nice little addition to a family’s backyard. The customer removed their old deck. It was a tough tight space but I was able to get in, complete the excavation and get the concrete poured in between all of our rain. With all the rain I used many heavy duty construction mats to keep the property disturbance to a minimum. I try to make every effort to make as little mess as possible and finish a job so it’s clean.

This was a nice little project to get started this year. They wanted the landscaping fixed, but low maintenance, so we decided to remove it and slope it so they could plant grass and push mow it. I installed a new downspout drain to fix a runoff issue and new railings so the little ones didn’t get cut on the old steel ones.

I have Mushroom compost for sale. This is some awesome material to top dress all your garden beds and flower beds with. It’s hot composted so it’s w**d free. It will help feed your beds for the growing season and does a wonderful job suppressing all the w**ds. I use it on all my beds and the only w**ds that need picked are the w**d seeds that blow in. $45 a yard, load on site or delivery available. Delivery cost would depend on distance. Small quantities available too if you want to fill a few buckets or bags.
