Spraying Sherwin-Williams oil-based dryfall (such as their Pro Industrial Alkyd Dryfall) on a corrugated metal ceiling is an effective way to hide imperfections, reduce glare, and provide a flat, uniform finish in industrial or commercial spaces. First, ensure the metal surface is clean, dry, and free of oil, grease, rust, or loose debris—use solvent cleaning if needed and consider a bonding primer like an oil-based metal primer (e.g., KEMBOND or similar) for better adhesion on galvanized or bare metal to prevent peeling. Apply the paint via airless spray with a suitable tip (typically in the 411–517 range, depending on equipment and viscosity), maintaining a 50% overlap on each pass for even coverage while working at the recommended distance and height to allow overspray to dry into a removable dust before settling. Work in well-ventilated areas with proper PPE due to the solvent base, and apply 1–2 coats as needed for full opacity, allowing adequate dry time between applications. This method minimizes messy drips on corrugated surfaces and floors below.
