Why would a restaurant owner need a reliable plumber?

When you think about , you often think about the food, the ambience or the location. The last thing you're considering is the dish pit. The plumbing.

We all know we've experienced a very dry winter!

Now that we are approaching a summer with water restrictions we wanted to give some tips and suggestions on how some simple changes to routine, can help save gallons of water.

Of course, timing when you water your lawn and choosing to water it less often helps save water, but did you consider what things you can do inside your home to help save water?

-Repairing old, leaky toilets, faucets and fixtures
A leaking toilet can waste 200 gallons of water a day!
-Taking quicker showers
-Turning the water off while you brush your teeth or while you scrub dishes
-Avoid running your dishwasher before its a full load of dishes
-Only running full loads of laundry

We're all in this together and if everyone in your neighborhood optimized their water usage, then we all can save thousands of gallons of water!

Garvin's is the operations manager for this years Purse Project!

What does that mean? That means we funded the storage unit that holds almost 2,000 purses each year floor to roof!

We want to spread the word of the kick off event so we can ensure this year is no different and that storage unit is packed to the brim!

This event is free, and even if you can't donate there will be plenty of chances to network and and mingle while we start stuffing these purses for womens shelters.

When everything is falling apart and your plumbing is failing you need a hero not a headache!

Garvin's has our typical office hours of 8am to 5pm always available but did you we have after hours too?
5pm-8am we have emergency dispatch on call just in case you have a middle of the night emergency. We are there for you when things don't go as planned!

But who cares if you have an emergency if you can't afford to fix it right?
Plumbing is expensive we get it. Just because you WANT to fix something doesn't mean you CAN afford all of that right now.

We now have financing options! Now if we give an estimate that makes you go cross eyed, just know you don't need that money all at once.

Let us be your hero, our polite and capable technicians want to help you first and foremost. We have been cleaning drains not bank accounts for 85 years now and we want to be there for you when you need it!

At Garvin's Plumbing and Sewer, we've been family owned for over 85 years, that's almost 4 generations!

Because we have been around so long, we know how important it is to reintroduce ourselves every once in a while!
Garvin’s Plumbing and Sewer began as Garvin’s Sewer Service in 1940 — Denver’s first professional drain-cleaning company. Founded by Russell P. Garvin, Garvin’s was passed to his great-nephew, Kenneth Aston in 1992. Currently, Kenneth’s three daughters run the day-to-day operations, making it a 3rd generation company.

Garvin’s spent several decades in the Golden Triangle district of Denver, near the Capital. In 2001, we expanded greatly and moved operations to Englewood where we could have a warehouse for supplies and offices to fit the growing staff. Today, we have over 30 staff who service the greater Denver area, including most areas within a one-hour drive of Denver.

We believe that customers have the right to expect fast, efficient service and that our service will be done by employees who are knowledgeable, polite and neat. We treat our customers with respect to achieve a long and productive relationship upon which they can rely. We’re dedicated to maintaining the integrity of the Garvin’s name.

With the Purse Project Kick-off Event quickly approaching, we want to get the word out there early. Raid your closets and basements, rummage through your storage units, shuffle through your long-abandoned bag collection (we know you have one 😉).

Can you donate a purse? There are some purse guidelines of course, gently used and borderline unusable are different things! From the founder's words herself these are the criteria for a suitable bag to donate:

-Do NOT donate purses with tears, stains, cigarette/perfume odor, broken fasteners/zippers, peeling leather/vinyl. When we receive these, we do not use them and they will be discarded, as we believe the women receiving our purse care packages should have a gently used to new purse.

-Purse needs to be large enough to fit in all the supplies in which we try to fill each purse. (See minimum list of supply fillers below.) An estimated size of purse needed is 9" X 11" with a 3" gusset.

**In an effort to be equitable, designer purses will not be given to unhoused women, as we do not have one for everyone. If designer purses are donated, we will use them for a silent auction to raise money for purse fillers.**

Inside each purse will be these items:

Shampoo/Shampoo Bar
Conditioner
Lotion
Deodorant
Toothbrush
Toothpaste
Dental floss or flossers
Feminine hygiene items
Pair of socks
Bar of soap
Nail clipper and/or nail file
Lip balm
Razor
Kleenex/tissue
Comb or hairbrush
