Here's a super easy tip that can save lives and your heat from failing. Keep snow build up away from venting systems. Snowdrifts or a large snowfall can block your furnace or hot water heater exhaust pipe and cause it to stop working. Checking the air intake and exhaust vents should be included in winter maintenance.

And let's not forget about those so-called 'flushable' wipes. Yeah, they're not so flushable after all. So, subscribe and like for more pro tips and laughs!

Pro tip of the week.
Did you know that water shut off valves should be exercised at least once every two years, or annually if possible. For example, quarter-turn valves should be exercised at least once a year to prevent freezing. It's safe to turn off the water shut-off valve if you're going to be away from home for more than 3 days. Should a pipe happen to spring a leak or heaven forbid burst.
This will severely minimize damage to your home.

If valves aren't exercised regularly, they can become a problem and may freeze in the open position, requiring replacement.
A good maintenance schedule can help extend the life of the valve.
