🌳 Hiring Lead Tree Climber – High Volume Removals / Fire Mitigation 🌳
We’re looking for a solid climber who likes staying busy and knocking out removals efficiently.
Most of our work is:
• High-volume removal projects
• Fire mitigation / forest thinning
• Production-style tree work
• Some residential tree work
Trees are usually small to mid-size, but the projects move fast and stay steady.
Equipment includes:
• 75' rear mount bucket truck
• Excavators with rotating grapples
• Mini skid steers
• 18" & 20" chippers
• Roll-off dumpster trucks
• Quality climbing gear
Our equipment setup keeps jobs moving and minimizes dragging brush all day.
Requirements:
• Experienced climber
• Comfortable running removals efficiently
• Able to lead and work with a crew
• Equipment experience a plus
• Class A CDL is a big plus
Pay: typically $35–$50/hr depending on experience.
Location: Estes Park, Fort Collins and Northern Colorado
We run good equipment and have steady year round work.

The last few days/weeks have been a whirlwind 🌬️🌲

These wind storms have kept our crews cranking nonstop—removing trees off homes and structures, handling storm damage, and pushing hard on a large land-clearing project in Fort Collins.

🌲 Wrapping up two weeks of fire mitigation in Glen Haven, Colorado!
This massive ponderosa pine was growing straight through the deck and over the home — so we brought in a 70-ton crane for faster, safer tree removal. 💪
(The crane was on site 3 separate days for this project!)

A fun, technical, and super rewarding way to finish a big mitigation job in the mountains. 🪓🔥

We started a major fire-mitigation project in Glen Haven this week. Our Arborist team has been working hard with the crane to remove some extremely difficult trees and reduce wildfire risk for the community. All hands—and all equipment—on deck to get it done quickly and safely.

🌳 Estes Valley Tree Care at TCIA Expo 2025 – St. Louis! 🌳

This week our crew made the trip to St. Louis for the TCIA Expo, the biggest gathering of tree care professionals in the country.
We kicked things off with the Plant Health Care pre-conference, followed by a full schedule of technical, business, and safety sessions throughout the week. We wrapped it all up with an incredible safety presentation from Dr. John Ball—a perfect way to close out an amazing conference.

Of course, we couldn’t miss exploring the massive expo floor—packed with the newest trucks, chippers, lifts, and all the latest tree-care tech.

Our ISA Certified Arborist Ryan Decker and I (Matt Tschohl) were there representing Estes Valley Tree Care, joined by my wife Tram and our daughter Mia, who made the trip extra special.

We’re heading home inspired and ready to bring new ideas, safer practices, and even better care to our clients here in the Estes Valley. 🌲
