Are you currently experiencing problems with your electrical system such as flickering lights, tripped surge protectors, tripped GFCI and AFCI outlets and/or circuit breakers? Are your appliances or electronics malfunctioning in Eureka Springs? If so, please report these issues to SWEPCO. There is a problem with their utilitiy transmission and they are working hard to correct this issue. In the meantime, we would suggest unplugging sensitive electronic equipment such as computers, TV's, and gaming consoles. Also refrigerators, ranges, clothes washers and dryers, microwaves and vent hoods that are equipped with digital components such as displays and circuit boards until the issue is corrected.

Are you prepared for outages or electrical emergencies? Follow these steps in case of an emergency. If you are near a downed power line, stay as far away as possible. Notify any bystanders, especially children of the dangers. Keep your pets close. Wintry precipitation, water, ice and anything that is composed of metal can be conductive and poses a risk of electrocution. Report a downed power line to your local law enforcement, utility company, or public works department as soon as possible. Hayes Electric will be on call for any emergencies that occur during winter weather events, and can assist in sub contracting of downed tree removal. We at Hayes Electric hope that none of our customers experience any electrical emergencies, but are prepared to assist in restoration of electrical power to residences businesses in our local area.
