There’s something special about watching years of hard work turn into something you can actually stand in.

A place for family dinners.
A place for grandkids to visit.
A place to slow down and enjoy what you built.

What’s one thing your dream retirement home absolutely has to have?

05/26/2026

Literally what more experience do you need? 😏

I think there are some days trade workers WISH AI would take over their job… but the reality is, we were built for this. And we aren’t gonna be replaced anytime soon.

It’s that point in the season where it’s sunny and 80 one day, then 32 and snowing the next depending where you are.

Hold on tight tradesmen, winter is over and the heat will be here before we know it 😂

Send this to your work buddy who would ride this out with you!

Some of these are part of the process, and some of them are completely avoidable.

Changing plans mid build, waiting too long on selections, or not having subcontractors lined up properly… those are the ones that can slow things down fast.

A good general contractor makes all the difference.

A solid team stays ahead of the permits, keeps materials on track, and coordinates crews so the job keeps moving. It takes planning, communication, and people who know how to manage a build day to day.

But there are also things nobody controls.

Utah weather can slow things down sometimes with snow, wind, and cold temps… it just depends on where you’re building.

A house in Park City is going to move at a different pace than one in Ogden. Terrain, elevation, all of that affects the timeline.

A good builder plans for it as best as possible and keeps things moving where they can.

If you’re starting to talk to builders, ask how they handle scheduling, communication, and unexpected delays. You’ll learn a lot just from that answer.

The builds that feel smooth usually started with a solid plan.

It sounds simple, but this is where you learn EVERYTHING.

Anyone can talk a good game, show you a clean website, some nice renderings, a low bid… but none of that tells you how they actually build or how they treat people once the job starts.

Recent clients will though.

Before hiring ask them:
Did the project stay on track? Was communication consistent? Were there unexpected or unexplained costs?Would you hire them again?

And go look at some real finished work. Like actual completed homes that people are living in (none of that staged home stuff).

We’ve seen firsthand what happens when this step gets skipped.

This home you’re looking at now belongs to Tyler Moore. When he first came to us, he had already trusted the wrong contractor. He was told all the right things, but none of it was real. The guy he hired had no insurance, poor workmanship, and he was left with a build that had to be torn down and redone.

By the time we got involved, he had nearly lost $400,000 of his hard earned cash…

Same project. Completely different outcome once it was done the right way.

So, this one question can save you a lot of time, stress, and money.

If you’re planning to build, don’t skip it.

Custom Barndominium Home in Evanston, WY

This wood framed barndominium (barndo) was built with one goal in mind: make it work for the way the owner lives day to day.

2,500 sq ft total, split between living space and a full garage. Plan is to build in under 6 months and coming in under $400K. That alone is what’s making barndos more popular across Evanston and Wyoming right now.

But the real standout on this one is the garage. This build has an 18 ft door so full size equipment and multiple vehicles can move in and out without a problem.

When you own 17 acres and farm equipment, it’s small decisions like that that completely change how usable and functional a space is.

Would you ever customize a barndo like this?

Stay tuned for updates as we bring our clients retirement home to life.

What you’re looking at started as raw excavation in mid-May, 2025.

By June 30, it was a fully completed steel frame shop.

This is a steel building construction project built for a client who needed a durable, functional space that could handle real work. Shops like this are becoming more common across Wyoming and Utah because they’re efficient, strong, and built to last.

This project was custom built and designed around how our client planned to use the space day to day. We started with excavation and piers below the frost line, then just kept things moving until it was finished.

About 6 weeks from start to finish.
The possibilities are endless with these steel structures. What would you use a steel shop for?

Ever notice how the contractors known for quality are usually scheduled a little further out?

It’s not because they’re slow. It’s because the best projects start with planning.

Before construction ever begins, there’s a lot that has to line up — engineering, permits, scheduling crews, coordinating materials, and making sure the right people are in place at the right time.

The contractors who care about doing things the right way don’t rush that process.

The homeowners who end up with the smoothest builds usually start those conversations early so everything can be planned properly before the first board ever goes up.

That doesn’t mean projects take forever to start — it just means the groundwork gets done the right way so construction can move forward without unnecessary headaches.

Good homes aren’t rushed. They’re planned.

Curious — when people start thinking about building, what’s the first question they usually ask?

If you’ve never built before, it can feel like you’re supposed to understand all of it right away.

Truth is… you shouldn’t have to.
A good contractor should walk you through these things before the project ever starts.

What they mean, how they affect your budget, and what they look like during the build.

Because those details are what protect your timeline, your investment, and your expectations.

The goal isn’t for homeowners to become construction experts. It’s to make sure you understand what’s happening with your project and feel confident in the decisions being made.

And even if you end up building with someone else, knowing these terms can help you ask better questions and avoid a lot of headaches down the road.

Building a home should feel exciting — not confusing.
