When your boiler uses glycol as a heat transfer fluid, instead of water, you need to maintain it. Your glycol should be colorful, like car antifreeze, or clear. Your glycol should never look like coffee or chocolate milk. It should definitely never look like sludge. Long term improper maintenance of the hydronic system can cause serious issues.

My apprentice Davin, has been 3D printing me organizational and useful items for my work bench and van. He started with tool organizers for the bench, and a glove storage box. Next he did wall mounts for our Milwaukee batteries. Now he has printed a wall mount receptacle to hold our hand cleaning wipes. He is also in the process of teaching himself how to do the actual 3D modeling so he can create the files/items himself. Very proud of this young man.

Thank you Rad Rod Garage!! We have a newly fabricated pipe tray for inside the inside of Goliath. Long enough to hold full 10' sections of pipe and unistrut, and completely made from an old shelving unit from our first service van.

The time finally came to get a new service van for the company. My old van had over a quarter million miles and it was time to retire it. Here he is... "Goliath". AWD with lots of ground clearance for those rough driveways and Alaskan backroads. Plus plenty of room for tools and supplies. Customer stated the smoke alarm in the house goes off when they cook, even with the kitchen vent fan on. Found two screws that were used to mount the ducting to the fan housing were install directly behind the louvers. This caused the louvers not to open. The lack of airflow since it was installed caused the motor to burn out too.

New walk-in cooler condensing unit vs old. Older units are not only less efficient, but some use refrigerant types that are no longer produced and can be very expensive. New units use newer type of refrigerants that are safer and less harmful to our enviroment. Old unit was R22, new one is R407c. R22 can no longer be manufactured. It can only be reclaimed, cleaned and re-bottled. Since the manufacturing ban went into effect January 1, 2020, R22 cost has gone up almost 1000%.
