A few weeks ago I had the honor of demonstrating h**p block making at the Root & Rise Symposium, held at Roanoke College. It was during the block party, and there were a lot of very interested people who came up and asked questions about h**p building materials, and h**pcrete stole the show.

I had a chance to speak with one of our Virginia Senators, Sen. Mark Warner, among the questions I asked about the Farm Bill was one about h**p-lime construction.

The Senator was on board with industrial h**p, and is preparing to eventually debate the current Farm Bill (which is three years late). He seemed genuinely interested, and reminded us that in 2018 he worked with Mitch McConnell to legalize h**p in the first place.

Industrial h**p is a bipartisan series of issues, that, once separated from the fight over cannabinoid production, will start to truly flourish. We need our own lane.
